Transposition of Great Beethoven Song Cycle

This piece runs about 12-15 minutes, nonstop for the pianist, with short breaks between the six songs for the singer. The attractive melodies are relatively simple, with variation in the piano part, and the vocal range is not great, although the tessitura goes higher as the songs progress. In this low voice edition, the lowest note is middle C and the highest is E above the C above middle C. Not difficult. But a great challenge for the artistry of both pianist and singer. This Schirmer edition was originally published in 1902, and has a singable English translation by Theodore Baker and a preface by H. E. Krehbiel. The German is printed above the English and the edition as a whole is very clear and readable.
