Adventure in India was written to evoke the musical styles heard in "Bollywood" movie soundtracks. This style of music has strong Indian folk influence, but a variety of other world music is incorporated into the piece. This makes the piece fresh and different from the normal beginning band pieces with non-traditional percussion that adds the flavor of music from India.
