A DISTANT STAR (Updated 2021) is a Christmas Carol for KB and Soprano/Alto voices in two parts. It was composed with young voices in mind...but can be performed by more mature choral groups. It is perfect for small church/or school groups.
This choral piece includes the centuries old melody found in Piae Cantiones (1582) and will be recognized as the tune to the English Carol Good King Wenceslaus. I rewrote the text drawing inspiration from older lyrics but "updated" my version in words more fitting for twentieth century performers and audiences.The music icontains easy-to-sing vocal lines with modern piano accompaniment including a touch of "Jazzy" Shepherds and Angels proclaiming the Savior's
