This book was the best purchase for my 11-year-old beginner. It can be difficult for older kids to enjoy learning piano in the beginning stages when many of the tunes seem childish or are unrecognizable. But this book is all modified classics that are easily recognizable, written in easy key signatures, and helps the students to stay interested by making them feel that they can accomplish pieces by all the great composers. The level of difficulty increases with the page numbers, so it is easy to see their progress as well. A great purchase for the older beginners (to include adults).

I just received the book and will be introducing it to my student at her next lesson. I think I am really going to like the book. However, I would really like to have an accompanying CD.
