Bach -Two Part Inventions by Johann Sebastian Bach Piano Solo - Sheet Music

By Johann Sebastian Bach

The Bach Two-Part Inventions were composed as teaching pieces and appear in ascending order by pitch, starting with C and using only those Major and minor keys with no more than four sharps or flats. All Inventions, clearly engraved on two pages with no page turns, include editorial markings and suggested tempi. The well designed table of ornaments, presented on a large easy-to-read staff, shows a picture of the ornament, an accurate description of execution, and exactly which notes to play.

    Bach Two Part Inventions

Everybody knows that every pianist has to play at least some of these. You should play them at the beginning and the end of your career.

    Bach 2 part inventions

Just as hard as they were when I started with them 80 years ago, but a nice clear copy and a good standard edition

    Another of Bach's perennial favorites

These miniature masterpieces are valuable as exercises for both hands, introductions to counterpoint, and recitals.
