Herb Alpert is an iconic American trumpeter, composer, bandleader, and record executive whose distinctive "Ameriachi" sound blended mariachi, jazz, pop, and easy listening to create a hugely popular instrumental music phenomenon in the 1960s with his group, the Tijuana Brass. Beyond his prolific recording career as a Grammy-winning artist, Alpert co-founded A&M Records with Jerry Moss, establishing one of the most successful independent record labels that launched the careers of numerous legendary artists and significantly impacted music history.
