Great book
not enough jazz and blues books are published for flute. This one is good and I hope there are more to come. Used first without the CD to get familiar with the improv areas is a good idea because following with the CD could challenge. Take your time and enjoy the charts in this book.

my favorite book
I absolutely love this book. Its my favorite. Its my go to book when i want to get a workout on my flute. If i don't practice for a while and then play this book, my mind and my fingers are not able to keep up with some of the songs. I have had this book for over five years now and i still can not master the last song in this book, Yard bird Suite, by Charlie Parker. I can not get through this song without fumbling. If you love jazz and know how to get down on your flute, this is a must have.

nice book, but not for jazz beginners
I had a student who really wanted to play jazz, so I bought this book. She loves it, but it's very hard for her as a first encounter with jazz and improvising
