Advanced Search

Use any of the seven search boxes together or individually.

Quick Guide to the Advanced Search

1. The "Title Name" section looks for products that match your search in either the product title or the table of contents.

2. The "Other Details" section searches for terms such as:

  • Names of people associated with the music, such as artist, band, editor, etc.
  • Details such as instrument, product number, publisher, etc.
  • Descriptive words such as easy, full score, or jazz.

3. In both sections, "with all the words" searches for the words in any order. "With the exact phrase" searches for the words in the exact order entered. "Without the words" searches for items that do not contain any of the words entered.

Favorite Search Tips

1. Try using just the last names of artists and composers if you are not seeing enough results.

2. Try entering fewer details at first. For example, search "Beatles" instead of "Beatles tab".

3. Do not use quotation marks in the search boxes.

4. Use our Artist A-Z list for hard-to-spell names. We list popular artists in alphabetical order.

5. For composers whose names are hard to spell or may have alternative spellings, try our Composer A-Z list, or use the "find results with all the words" box to try a partial word search (e.g. "rach" instead of "rachmaninoff" or "rachmaninov"). Please note: partial word searches only work in the "find results with all the words" fields of our Advanced Search.

6. Skip any leading zeros in a publisher's product number (e.g., search "123" instead of "000123"). Also, include any hyphens used by the publisher.

7. Too many search results? You can narrow your searches using the lefthand column options.
