Pure Joy to Sing!
As an adult learner, I absolutely love this arrangement of 'Fields of Gold.' It really captures the achingly beautiful feel of Eva Cassidy's version. The vocal lines are so pure and simple, making it totally achievable for our community choir to sound great without too much struggle. It's a relaxing and rewarding piece to work on every week!

Excellent Choral Arrangement for Students
Roger Emerson's SATB arrangement of 'Fields of Gold' is a gem for school and community choirs. The pure, simple vocal lines are fantastic for teaching intonation and blend, while the clear engraving makes reading a breeze. Beautifully Supporting Accompaniment

Reliable Chart for Accompanists
This 'Fields of Gold' arrangement (SATB) is solid for quick prep, based on the classic Eva Cassidy recording. Chord symbols are clearly present, which is a huge time-saver on gigs. At 12 pages, it's manageable for page turns. It's a widely recognizable and requested piece, so it's a good one to have in your book for various choral events.

Fields Of Gold
A really good arrangement for our 50+ member non-auditioning Community Choir with an age range of 10 to 90 years. The choir's immediate reaction was one of satisfaction with a piece that will produce a polished item reasonably rapidly.

Fields of Gold
Our women's chorus loves this arrangement and the fact that the melody shifts among soprano, second soprano and alto. However, when she recorded this piece, Eva Cassidy started her arrangement in the key of A, not C as in this arrangement, so why this is billed as the Eva Cassidy version may only suggest a woman's viewpoint of the lyrics. The key of A would have been better suited to our chorus.

Great arrangement but needs some work!
Have used this arrangement with several community choirs and it always goes down well and is a popular concert item. It's a lovely arrangment. Needs careful attention to vowels and intonation to bring out the lush chords. Add a pause in to build penultimate chord. Also watch the text.. it's confusing and inconsistent.. among the fields and in the fields used interchably. We changed them all to among the fields for consistency and ease of memorisation.
