Thoroughly enjoyable piece.
Originally for wind octet, the Philadelphia Wind Ensemble have produced a masterly arrangement of this delightful work.The lively first, third and fourth movements are counterbalanced by the second which is also known as the St Anthony's Chorale (as used by Brahms as the basis of a set of orchestral variations). The work is fun to play and fun to listen to. I first purchased it back in 1960 and have been playing it ever since.
