Great Duet Book
As a private guitar instructor, I highly recommend this book. For beginner students, this is a great way to learn a few Christmas songs everyone loves while helping them learn to play with another person. For intermediate/advanced players, the book is great sight reading for guitar, violin, flute, and most any C instrument. There are two treble clef staves (one with melody and one with harmony) and chords names above the melody. This makes it perfect for mixing up instruments (i.e. guitar, bass, and violin/flute playing at once). If I get a last minute call asking for Christmas background music, this is my go to book. It is simple, fun, and the audience enjoys it. I like to play the song once through, then switch parts and repeat the whole song. Doing this through the whole book will fill about 60 minutes.

Easy duets
I don't have a lot of experience on the violin so I like this easier type of music. most of the notes are on the A&E strings.Nice.

A gGreat resource for the Carol Season
Christmas Duets provides many options for styles of performance, particularly for string players, chordal instruments, guitars, and keyboard players familiar with chord symbols.A first class, educational tool. With only two parts, the harmonies work well.Excellent suggestions are given for providing variety and interest for performers, and the beautiful simplicity of carol music is preserved and harmonised well. At the busiest time of the year, with schools on vacation, it is hard to gather larger ensembles, and two instruments (or parts) together are suitable for these carols which could accompany singers as well. The text provides advice for performance in homes or concerts as families gather during the Christmas season. Print is first class, and the musical suggestions work well.

Not so easy for transposition
I read that these arrangements could be transposed for other instruments, but they seem a little high for beginning trumpet players. I LOVE that the book is written with guitar accompaniment, but the songs are not so much arrangements as they are a melody with a harmony and just chord frames. Probably very good for violins and C instruments, but not so much when transposing for other instruments.
