Twelve classic jazz standards
This is one of the best of the play along books with CDs that I have purchased from Sheetmusicplus. The first disc gives you trumpet soloist playing the wriiten music almost as written. I say almost because he is inherently a jazz musician so he can't quite keep from bopping it just a tad. After the first go with the piece Bryan Shaw takes off on a very nice jazz rendition of the same piece. After he plays that through he again takes off in an even more improvised version. Bryan is so good, he is really fun to hear. I would say the degree of difficulty here is intermediate. But not impossible for a beginner with some experience.

Love this book !
This is a fun easy book to learn classic tunes. I use it mainly for my Baritone Sax but have also played some with my Tenor Sax.

A great intro to jazz classics
My son plays trombone in the 8th grade jazz band. This collection has been great. By listening and learning to play these jazz classics, he is learning to put a little more swing in his playing. It's his favorite music to play when he brings his horn home on the weekend.

Twelve Classic Jazz Standards
The remastered backing CD is very, very bassy.Even after turning the bass right down on my hi fi unit it is still too bassy.I am afraid it has put me right off useing this otherwise useful publication.Len Hurst

Twelve Classic Jazz Standards:
These are delightful old numbers and not too difficult. The backing is quite good but 'old fashioned'.

12 classic jazz standards
Good book for exercising. Fun to play with the accompaniments and easy to follow. I recommend it for early intermediate players.
