English. Text by Francis Patrick O'Brien.

"Wood of the Cradle' is ideal for a Christmas-Epiphany intergenerational choir of unison children, youth or adult SAB voices, guitar, woodwinds, and cello.
Its tender, expressive folklike quality is captivating.
The eucharistic imagery in the assembly refrain would also make this piece a good choice for a Communion processional.

Very simple but pretty melody. Runs a bit long for a conventional church service, but we used during Christmas Eve communion, which worked well. I used a young soprano as soloist and it was quite effective.
