This collection of pieces is wonderful for a community chorus that performs public concerts and special programs for retirement communities.

I direct a community chorus with members ability ranging from exceptional to average. All find the music fun and challenging. I catch myself wishing that more time had been spent with fewer numbers. It is hard to develop a real relationship with a song in a short time frame. Because...

of the tight harmonies, singers need to have good pitch perception and be able to sing long phrases sans vibrato. A great ear training tool for young singers and music that takes older singers back to a simpler, more relaxed era (whether there was one or not, it gives that feel).

  • January 24, 2008 good Richard Rodgers sampler

This is a very good set of five jazzy medleys of Rodgers tunes, mixing his work with Hart and with Hammerstein. Many of the well-known standards are represented, as well as some lesser-known songs. Singers will enjoy these fun arrangements with some nice close harmonies, which are interesting...

    but not terribly difficult.
