Willow was one of the movies which made me love music as a child. I was excited to finally get to see the score. I looked first for parts with the oboe, which I play, so I knew where in the score it ought to be. I couldn’t find...

it at first and kept getting lost, but then I saw the score is broken down with only playing bars running to save space and so instead of reading straight across each page with the full score printed out, the score splits in two or 3 sections per page, only showing the part of the score with playing instruments. The next piece will at times start mid page too instead of stating on a fresh new page. It is all in there though. Just a little hard to follow along at times. I believe Horner did a great job of creating landscapes with his score from the sounds of water, forests, to mountain tops. You can feel the locations in the music. You can feel the action. The score is not a contemplative tearjerker, it’s an invite to go on a journey.

Thank the licensing gods and Omni owner Tim Rodier for making this long out-of-print score available again - and worldwide. This is the digital version of the hard copy that sold out. Those of us outside the U.S. take note: the pdf file is formatted for standard U...

.S. paper size Arch A, being 9inches x 12 inches. Here in Australia the standard size is the smaller A4 (8.3in x 11.7in / 210mm x 297mm). So when printing hard copy be careful to configure your printer settings to "Fit to Page" or whatever page size is the standard in your region. When printing to A4 obviously the notes come out smaller, but the watermark at the bottom of the page ends up overlapping with the bar numbers or bottom stave of the score. The notes are still legible though. This is a small thing, but I know some people can get picky about such things. Excellent stuff. Hopefully this can pave the way for other Omni out-of-print or region limited scores to be made available worldwide.
