The Wiener Urtext Album is an album of selected easy piano pieces from various Wiener Urtext editions. The album contains well-known and lesser known original compositions from Bach to Schoenberg which are intended to diversify second- and third-year piano lessons. The pupil shall get accustomed to original urtext compositions as early as possible and, at the same time, be encouraged to creative playing. Valuable help is provided by the short index of composers at the end of the volume containing links to Internet pages on the composers which shall encourage the pupil to hunt up further information. As in other Wiener Urtext editions, this volume too contains the obligatory facsimile page. Compared with modern notation, it can get both teachers and pupils onto fascinating expeditions.
This title has selections that range in difficulty from SMP Level 3-8.

This book is a gold mine of delicious pieces for intermediate students. It is a perfect literature collection by composers of all four periods, suitable for students who have completed four levels of a standard method or two grades of a traditional course. The book can be used for several years, as the pieces range from level five through seven or eight.Use of this book enables students to experience authentic urtext music without having to spend excessive amounts of money to do so. At the same time, teachers finally have reliable versions of such teaching resources as Burgmuller's Arabesque and Ballade. Of course, favorites such as Fur Elise and Bach's C major Prelude from the WTC are also present.This album might just be one of those every student books in my studio! Thank you, Vienna Urtext.
