When You Prayed Beneath the Trees by Lloyd Larson 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Lloyd Larson

Especially meaningful during the days of Holy Week, this Christopher Idle text relates to our Lord praying in the garden of Gethsemane, and weaves around the ÔtreeÕ theme found in many Scriptures about the cross. Lloyd LarsonÕs original accompaniment for piano, plus the optional flute, oboe, French horn and cello perfectly capture the somber mood. Related items available separately: Rehearsal/Performance CD (C5206C), Optional instrumental accompaniment parts (C5206P), SAB Choral octavo (C5382).

Amazing Maundy Thursday piece!!

This is a wonderful anthem for Maundy Thursday! The choir takes the congregation to the garden and the melody is so beautiful with easily learned harmonies and a cello part that creates an eerie yet very lush sound. It could be used for Lent as well, but the text is very fitting for the Maundy Thursday service. I highly recommend this piece! It is not hard to learn- we had it in two rehearsals.
