Derek Hasted writes "This charming Christmas Song was made famous by the effortless singing of Johnny Mathis and recently came back to everyone's awareness with a new version by Andrea Bocelli.
There are two versions of my arrangement in this one edition.
The first arrangement is in conventional “SATB style”, where the three guitars play tune, harmony and bass lines. It would suit a mixed ability ensemble where the tune player is comfortable to move up the neck and the bass player has the least experience.
The second arrangement rotates the roles so that each player takes a different role in every verse and each player has the tune at one point. It would suit a more evenly matched ensemble as the tune deserves a consistent tone and volume across the three verses.
The two versions share the same notes.
There’s no fingering on the score. This is because a more skilled ensemble might enjoy taking the parts up the neck to achieve a rounder and more lyrical tone.
