This is my piano interpretation of one of my favourite Christmas songs When A Child Is Born. A variety of textures and techniques are explored, starting with the melody in three part counterpart, then shifting between left and right hand with lush chordal accompaniment. The third verse is lifted through modulation and uses jazz harmonies in a block chord style before subsiding to a gentle conclusion.
This arrangement would suit an intermediate or advanced student looking for a short holiday piece for a recital or just for fun in the holiday season.
