This item was purchased as a gift for a talented pianist. As noted by other reviewers, it is very difficult to locate a complete score; this was a fortunate find. Customer service is superb; courteous, professional, and generous with their time and solutions.

In the beginning, I was just very curious to as to how 'America' would be represented on paper. But this is just so much more than that. This is everything. Bernstein has cleverly orchestrated his way around some very limited instrumentation, and yet he manages to manipulate seemlessly the timbres...

to bring about spcific moods and styles effortlessly. I can't believe that this is commercially available. It is truly a collector's item. I wish film scores were released in this format. The hardback binding is superb. The quality is in the weight. With its thick, high quality pages, this publication has a genuine encyclopedic feel, which is just brilliant. Along with the Deutsch Gramophon recording, this is a good hour (or seemingly, endless) entertainment for the reader/listener. And unlike a $100 theatre ticket, this one is forever.

"West Side Story" is thought of as a broadway musical, but it's one of the best classical works of the modern era.

down deep into this music. The only negative comment I have about this score is the print can be a little larger. Other than that it is great.

It's always hard to find broadway full scores, and this one is a delight!
