The period between the two World Wars was one of the most productive for the composition of music for brass band. Elgar, Holst, Vaughan Williams, Howells, Bliss, and Ireland all added their voices to the repertoire. This album is comprised of brass band pieces which were written to pay tribute to the loss of young life during the wars. The album is bookended by works from Benjamin Britten, with the works between receiving their first recorded performances. Cory Bray has been the number one brass band in the world for nearly a decade. The group was founded in 1884 and is based in the Rhondda Valley in Wales. The Tredegar Town Band are 2016 Welsh Champions and Double British Open Champions.
