Wagnerian conductor Hans Knappertsbusch does a remarkable job bringing out all of the complexities of this work. Performed by the Chor der Bayerischen Staatsoper and the Bayerisches Staatsorchester, this recording is a legendary find that shouldn't be overlooked.
