first off, this concerto isn't very technically hard as people think it is... i think the hardest part of this piece is being able to express what shostakovich wrote. it's so profound and perhaps in such a high level of emotion.. the emotion is.. more or less complicated...

. you really need to research this piece to be able to put yourself in shostakovich's shoes and give a meaning to each and every note. so, if you're up for a musical challenge, go for it.

This piece blew me away when I heard it. It is very difficult. but it would be worth the time and effort to learn this piece. It is one of the jewels of violin music.
