This piece is killer. It is VERY 21st century and if you want something completely fluent and tonal this piece is not for you. However, if you want something exciting, interesting, challenging, and different I would say to give this one a shot. I personally find it to be an...

incredible piece and I love the liberties it allows the soloist. There are some difficult double stops that not every violist is physically capable of reaching, but they are in Cadenzas and are thus changeable. This piece offers a great challenge on musicality, you cannot just play the notes and expect it to sound good, it requires pizzazz! Depending on how you play it this could be one of the greatest pieces to listen to, or one of the greatest disasters of all time!
