SKU: A0.992009

Composed by Franz Neruda. Arranged by Adam Schreiber. Holiday,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 32 pages. Adam Schreiber Press, Inc. #3239579. Published by Adam Schreiber Press, Inc. (A0.992009).

Originally written for Cello and Orchestra in 1887, this newly discovered, long lost Concerto by Franz Xaver Neruda has been revived and re-worked for Viola and Piano by acclaimed Cellist and composer, Adam Schreiber, making a  much needed addition to the viola repertoire/concerti. Written in one movement with three main sections, a cheerful but maybe a little cheesy opening Allegro in A major, followed by a much more introspective and soulful Andante in F major with hints of danish folk tunes, concluded by a grand finale Allegro-presto in A major with The mother of all Cadenzas, a beast in itself, to finish off this lovely concerto.
Average Duration: 16 Min.
(Includes Piano Accompaniment)
This piece is a perfect pedagogical tool for intermediate-advanced viola students, especially for that Cadenza.
The cadenza alone makes this piece a worthwhile addition to the viola repetoire and an excellent piece for any recital.
