Passages in double notes do not fall easily in the hand; balances and pedaling challenging; subtle and highly chromatic harmony hard to make clear. But some wonderful melodies (like Faure or almost Rachmaninoff) and a masterful and...

    winning finale (half as long as the rest of the piece) sweep the listener along. There are easier works for both performer and audience, but this is a great choice for a player and audience willing to work a bit.
