Violin Solo - Digital Download

SKU: A0.845888

Composed by F.Schubert, Franz Liszt. Arranged by David Oistrakh, Aleksander Kiryushchenko. Romantic Period. 23 pages. Aleksandr Kiryushchenko #3897641. Published by Aleksandr Kiryushchenko (A0.845888).

A sparkling showpiece, this Valse-Caprice (known to pianists as No. 6) is actually a sort of amalgam of two different piano pieces by Schubert, from his Valses Nobles et Sentimentales (D. 779 and 969). Piano virtuoso Franz Liszt made a series of arrangements on some of these waltzes, calling them Soirées de Vienne. In turn, this arrangement for violin  by great violinist David Oistrakh and me for string orchestra is based on Liszt's transcriptions. It is, therefore, appropriately virtuosic, requiring skill from violinist and string orchestra!
