The piece offers many opportunities to play the same musical material in contrasting styles. The introduction should be broad and majestic, setting the tone for the main theme that follows at m. 5. Pay close attention to dynamics and articulation as they determine the contrasting styles. The pizzicato sections that begin at m. 21 should be as light as possible and remain that way every time they appear. The B section that begins at m. 46 should be loud and full, taking advantage of the full bow. This leads to a presentation of the main theme in a broad  regal style at m. 54. This should be played in the same style as the introduction, which reappears at m. 60. The piano dynamic here should be as soft as possible, allowing room for the crescendo to grow and bring the piece to a close.
