    I thought the book and CD were very well thought out and presented in a manner that was challenging but not overwhelming. The course covered techniques such as bending, hammering, tremelo, power chords, scales and various picking excercises. All of the solos on the CD are presented with rhythm charts...

    and tabs. Contrary to what the previous reviewer stated, after all solos are performed on the CD, the artists fall back and play rhythm to allow the student to solo along with the band. I highly recommend this book for the intermediate / advanced level players

  • June 27, 2003 Not "Play Along" at all

    There are no play-along (rhythn section only) tracks at all on the CD. Each track is chock full of the guest guitarists solo, completely defeating the purpose of having backing tracks to play to.
