    I heard these on a CD a few years ago and I really liked the first of the Two Old English Songs. That was "Sally in our Alley". I included that as one of the pieces I did with my Charles River Sinfonietta Youth Orchestra in our concerts. All the...

    instruments had nice parts to play. The middle section, the development, wasn't quite as fun to listen to as the beginning and the end. But it still was a wonderful piece, I'll gladly put it in a program again. The other Old English Song "Cherry Ripe" was a nice one too. But we haven't played that one yet.
