SATB choir, a cappella
From Sech Lieder im Freien zu singen. Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn (1809-1847). Edited by Scott MacPherson. Prima Cantate Series. Educational, Concert. Octavo. 24 pages. Published by Roger Dean Publishing (LX.15-2046R).

Item Number: LX.15-2046R

Scott MacPhereson's edition of Mendelssohn's "Im Walde" and "Jaglied" brings these pieces that were, in the composer's words, meant "to be sung in the open air" into the concert hall. Beautifully lyrical, "Im Walde" features a simplicity of means that perfectly highlights the text, while the quick and rhythmic "Jaglied" mimics the sound of galloping horses as it illustrates a hunting scene.
