It would help if the sample page shown included a little of the trumpet solo. It only displays the piano part.

This is a very good arrangement of the Hummel! Although it excludes some of the ornaments, it is a great value for the price. Easy to read and a lot of fun to play!

I was hoping for a replication of the original, but found a dumbed down copy. Ornaments in general are excluded. This is a great composition, but this edition is more appropriate for middle schoolers or early high school students.

  • September 23, 2006 Loads of Fun!

This concerto easily exceeds others of its genre in difficulty, as far as technique and overall endurance, and just plain is fun to play! Originally, i played this piece as my sightreading audition, but soon after i bought a copy of my own and fell in love with it. The...

sections in the third movement are definately a personal favorite, and i know that i will continue to play this piece and look more into Hummel's work. Overall, this piece is fine work of art, which anyone with a passion for the trumpet should consider playing.

  • April 03, 2001 Hummel Trumpet Concerto

A concerto not for the faint hearted! Its technical demands are great, to the player, and though it may require many hours of practice, the player, as I have found, can reap the rewards of a very challenging, yet exciting concerto. I have myself found the piece very likeable to...

play, never bored of its difficulty and challenges. A must for any good trumpet player, and once its difficulty has been mastered the audience will love you. Its blend of particular trumpet styles, mixed with the relaxed styles of the second movement and sections of the first, make this a concerto for player and audience alike. It is easily listenable, and I will take joy in playing this concerto for many years to come.
