Trios for Strings and Winds by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart String Trio - Sheet Music
By Wolfgang Amadeus MozartThis edition contains all of Mozart's works, fragments and drafts for three string instruments. lt includes the famous Divertimento in E-flat major for violin, viola and cello (1788, K. 563) and a draft in G major for the same setting (K. 562e) as well as a pair of movements in B-flat major (Adagio and Minuet) for two violins and bass from Mozart's Salzburg period (K. 266/271f) and a short draft for the same instruments dating from his early Vienna years (1782-3). While the Adagio and Minuet conform to the old baroque trio tradition with two equal upper parts above a more stolid bass, the E-flat major Divertimento, with ist three chamber music instruments all on an equal footing, broke entirely new ground to form „the true steppingstone to an independent string trio genre“ (Laurenz Lotteken). Also available as performing edition with parts BA 4866.
