Johann Dietrich (Diedrich) Stiehl was an organist who was born in Lubeck, Germany, on July 9th, 1800 and died there on June 27th, 1873. He studied organ with M. Bauck whom he succeeded as organist of the Jakobkirche in 1835. He had two sons who became musicians: Carl (Karl Johann Christian Stiehl (1826-1911) and Heinrigh (Franz Daniel) Stiehl (1829-1886).
