By Eric Ewazen

Chamber Music Trombone, Tuba, Piano
Composed by Eric Ewazen. Contemporary. Set of Score and Parts. With Standard notation. 44+12+12 pages. Duration 18 minutes. Theodore Presser Company #114-41493. Published by Theodore Presser Company (PR.114414930).

Item Number: PR.114414930

8.5 x 11 inches.

Ewazen refers to himself as a long-time fan of the low brass, which he finds particularly attractive, and of the virtuosic playing he has heard over many years. Here, three movements allow the low brass to dance, to sing, and to fly, an unusual setting for instruments normally used in "grand, dramatic fanfares." For advanced performers. Duration: 18'.

Written for Carol Jantsch and her husband. Trombone part is in tenor clef and remains in the high register for the majority of the work, tuba part works best on either an E-flat or F tuba, but is playable on the big horn. This work is typical "Ewazen sounding...

" music, so if you're a fan of his, you will probably enjoy this work. It reminds me of the Euphonium Sonata which is a better work in my opinion.
