Composed by Zequinha de Abreu. Arranged by Stephen M. Taylor. Latin,Multicultural,Standards,Wedding,World. 18 pages. SMT Music #3221031. Published by SMT Music (A0.749728).

"Tico-Tico no Fubá" ("sparrow in the bran") was composed in 1917 by Zequinha de Abreu and lyrics in Portugeuse became quite popular in the 1940's when the Andrews  Sisters recorded it. Has been covered by many artists including Carmen Miranda, Ethel Smith and Fred Waring. This song was often performed by the Grateful Dead during their tuning jams between songs. Our string quartet plays it for wedding cocktail receptions and background music gigs. First violin has a nice solo line on the repeat of the A section, and the 2nd violin and viola have a chance to shine as well.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
