London's Burning, Bobby Shaftoe and The Caterpillar are three very easy pieces for beginner cellists, using mostly open strings and the first and 4th finger on the D and A. They come with simple piano accompaniments, and are enjoyed by many students at the beginning of their cello journey.

Emma Butterworth is a composer for film and TV and also a successful Suzuki cello teacher. She has an intimate knowledge of how to write for strings, and has written and arranged a vast number of pieces for cellos and strings especially. All pieces have been played and performed.
