    These three pieces make a welcome addition to the stock of "character pieces" The first two are very suitable for late intermediate students, while the third is pretty difficult. Stylistically, while Britten's own voice is beginning to come through, it's obvious that he owes a good deal to...

    Scriabin and other late romantic composers in these works. These works go over well with audiences. If you are looking for literature that will give the player a chance to shine with pieces that are just off the beaten track, I certainly think this set might be appropriate for a late intermediate or advanced pianist.
