Mary Kay Beall.

Original anthem

A powerful statement about the betrayal of Christ, this Mary Kay Beall/John Carter collaboration, "reaches into the character and motivation of Judas, reminding us of the intimacy of his relationship with Jesus ('You joined him at the table, he looked you in the eye'), of his weakness ('Oh, Judas, what have you done?') and of the ultimate accusation ('You never counted the cost'). The music and text together enable use to capture the enormity and the pathos of the betrayal. " (from Mary Kay Beall's notes about "Thirty Pieces of Silver. ".

  • December 11, 2008 butchered melody

John Carter (the original arranger) would roll over in his grave if he heard this rendition. The original melody and lyrics were awe inspiring but not so with this butchered version. What they have done to this song might even be illegal!
