The Rebirth of Spring is a setting of a poem by Texas poet Edward H. Garcia. In "Rebirth" he compares spring...to a beautiful woman waking from slumber. It begins with a description of a rustic country scene...and transforms into a rousing party for a collection of "Poets and Friends." The opening sets the scene while the closing is a rousing Irish tinged "both barrels" finale for the performer. Excellent for a recital encore or closing number.
Moderate range for the vocalist and a moderate piano accompaniment.
Availble for high voice also. A live performance is posted on YouTube.com
