Wonderful book. Lots of variety in pieces and the arrangements are challenging, doable, and very nice sounding.

I recently had a Christmas gig (our university president's Christmas party) and I only needed this book. My teacher lent it to her students playing at the gig, and all we had to do was sightread for like an hour. This book is perfect for gigs and sightreading practice...

; it's a lot more fun than sightreading classical music as well. There are some more advanced pieces in here as well, but even they can be simplified as you play through them.

To panacea0009- I take music books like this to a local print shop. They can cut the binding and place a spiral binder quite easily. Inexpensive $4-5. Fedex stores do this also. But costs more. This is a wonderful book.

This says it's advanced. It is intermediate at best. I've played piano for 20 yrs and I could basically play them perfectly the first time. I gave the book to one of my students and she can play them pretty easily too but she's only been playing...

for about 4 yrs. The hymns are only 2 pages long so that was disappointing as well as I wanted actual descent length arrangements to play.

Frankly, I can't recommend this book for one simple reason... it's not spiral bound. I don't care how good the music is - if it's made for piano but you can't actually place it on your piano without it falling off then what is the point...

? You can get away with a regular binding for a 12-song booklet but not 50 pieces! I've thrown away all of my Dan Coates music because his music is always bundled in WAY too large of books and it's just too frustrating to play.
