This book is an incredible source to fully understand Jelly Roll Morton. I wish it contained the other pieces from the CD by Artis Woodhouse as well.

These transcriptions of Morton's "hand-played" rolls are an invaluable resource for anyone interested in early jazz piano. Artis Wodehouse has performed a valuable service, and this is a perfect companion piece to the Smithsonian volume by James Dapogny.
