The Path and the Traces, inspired by choral singing in a Greek-Orthodox church, portrays the powerful arches of the cathedral, and singing with its reverberation - the one element static, the other in constant motion. The title alludes to the path and traces one generally follows in music, in life, and in interaction with others. For Tuur and many other Estonian composers, Arvo Part forged such a Path. The Path and the Traces embodies subtle references to Part's music.
