    Difficulty Level:
  • January 04, 2009 a refreshing alternative to Malotte!

This is a sudued, reflective version of the Lord's prayer, written in plainsong style. The men's voices are in unison, except near the end where they break into 4-part "For Thine is the Kingdom. . . The flute part is optional, playing the into, interlude, & ending. The one drawback...

is that Mr Childs wrote it in the key of B, with 5 sharps, thus making the piano accompaniment a bit more difficult, although it is otherwise an easy accompaniment. Flute players will have no problem playing the flute part. Over all, this is a wonderful piece, and I congratulate Mr Childs for providing us not only with a new Lord's Prayer, but for arranging it for men's chorus!
