The "Little" Fugue (BWV 578) for mixed clarinet quartet by Johann Sebastian Bach Clarinet Quartet - Digital Sheet Music

By Johann Sebastian Bach

The "Little Fugue" in G minor is one of Bach's best known fugues. This arrangement remains faithful to the original voicing of the fugue. It has been transposed to place the parts in appropriate range and key for a clarinet quartet. The "Little" fugue is short enough for a modern audience to enjoy, and well known to their ears, it is an excellent work transcribed for a small clarinet choir. This is a great arrangement to have on hand for both serious and pop concerts. It is very versatile tune to program. This transcription is by Phillip Pollard. He is an active clarinet player in the San Jose area: He is the bass clarinet player of the Livermore-Amador Symphony, plays alto, bass and contra clarinets in the Ohlone Wind Orchestra, plays soprano clarinet as the concert master of the Ohlone Community Band, and plays bass and contra clarinets in the Clarinet Fusion clarinet choir. He has been arranging for clarinet choir for over 15 years.
