This is one of the best pieces I've ever played... Emotional, dramatic, beautiful, and challenging. It's perfect for high school concert band.

We played this for our Middle School spring concert and the piece was amazing. Everyone loved it. Though it was 3 pages long, it was fun and fast. One suggestion, do this piece in cut time, it sounds much better. I played horn on this and it still had a...

  • January 09, 2008 A Masterpiece!!!!

My high school played this selection for ratings one year. It is a beautiful piece; extremely moving when played correctly. As an oboe player I loved every minute of this piece. This is definitely a must have for any band that wishes to move and inspire with wonderful music.

director wants an oboe solo on the "molto expressivo ed rubata" part, keep the flutes in. We've tried that, and it sounded a little too quiet. *sigh*) But anyways, great song!
