Composed by Irish Traditional. Arranged by Dorothy van Joolen Barth. Celtic,Holiday,Irish,Standards,Wedding. Score and parts. 5 pages. Dorothy van Joolen Barth #50905. Published by Dorothy van Joolen Barth (A0.785030).

The King of the Pipers is a double jig; the source tune is from O'Neill's Music of Ireland and is attributed to Cronin. It is one of the arrangements that appears in my anthology of duos titled Of Castles, Kings, and Courts. The anthology is available in its entirety as a separate download. While recording a digital album of the music from Of Castles, Kings, and Courts with our duo Kammeraderie, I was reminded that I'd previously written two versions. One version features the violin in the lead; on the other version, the violin and recorder swap the melody. When not in the lead, the violin adds interesting drones. Both versions are included in this download and require great agility in their performance.
