This book is not a beginners method. If you buy this book as a beginner, it will make you confused and quite sad. If you are going to get sucked into a road of complicated music theory, and obscure greek scale names as the basis of your guitar playing, you...

may as well have a teacher to hold your hand through the bland process. I am a self taught, and am happy to say i am pretty darn good at guitar. Naturally, being good at guitar, i wanted to go into the deeper, stuff, the theory stuff, so I could compose songs, and play with a band and what not. This book helped me through this process, pretty well. Taught scales, intervals, chord formulas, and a pretty good explanation of how notes interact with eachother. All and all, it is a pretty good book aside from it's complications at some points. Recommended for the intermediate player who has been dabling in music theory, but can not comprehend. This book will put it all in prespective for you.
