Brass Ensemble - Digital Download

SKU: A0.808627

Composed by Public domain, English traditional. Arranged by F. Leslie Smith. Christmas. Score and parts. 8 pages. Sweetwater Brass Press #482673. Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808627).

This version of the traditional Christmas carol, "The First Noel," begins with a strong introductory statement, followed by a once-through of the entire melody. A quieting transition leads to a change of key and of style; the melody is repeated in a strong, exultant fugue-like setting. The conclusion is, once again, quiet. And all this in less than two minutes . . . put it together with a series of other short carol arrangements and you have a great Christmas feature.

This arrangement was completed in 2012, and performance time runs about 1 minute, 39 seconds. The arranger, Les Smith, can be reached at lessmith@ufl.edu. For more arrangements by Les, enter "Sweetwater Brass Press" (without the quotation marks) in the SheetMusicPlus search box.
