This useful series, edited by Willard A. Palmer and others, features the easiest works of Mozart. All selections are presented in their original, un-simplified form and are organized in progressive order of difficulty. It allows students to begin playing this music from authoritative editions at an early stage in their studies. Pianist Scott Price has beautifully recorded all the pieces in the book, included on CD.

Two important notes: 1) A tr is still incorrectly defined as being the same thing as a mordent. 2) Whose Xerox machine did this come off of? The 1st version of the book I purchased had a glossy cover, and was printed on nice stock. The cover on this is fuzzy and the paper thinner (a bad thing if you or your teacher make marks and/or erase). The indications which should be in “light gray print are as black as the rest of the music. This looks like a reproduction made at a copy center, down to the off center staple along the spine. Clearly quality standards are not what they used to be. 5 stars for selection, but only 2 stars for “packaging.
